Although we love our Winter vacations, spending time in tropical locations is also high on our travel bucket list.
So, during our 2-month European getaway, we were excited to spend five nights in sunny Mallorca, Spain.
A 7.5hr ferry from Barcelona, Mallorca gave us the tranquility, sunshine and peace we were desperately seeking after a month on the road.
Whether you’re looking to unwind, relax, and get your tan on; take part in water-based activities; drink yourself silly; or all of the above — Mallorca is definitely worth a visit.
How to Spend Five Days in Mallorca
Where to stay
We opted to stay in the area of Palma Nova, a short drive from the city of Palma; and right next to Magaluf, popular with British party-goers and families alike.
The Rosa del mar Aparthotel ticked all of our boxes:
- in-suite kitchenette
- large swimming pool
- hot tub and sauna
- buffet restaurant
- close proximity to beaches, shopping, and entertainment.
The staff were friendly and helpful; and even allowed us to check-in super early, as we had just arrived from an overnight ferry.
There is no shortage of things to do in Mallorca, and you really can do as little or as much as your heart desires. Our aim was to rejuvenate ourselves and have some down-time, so we didn’t do much exploring.
Expedition Golf: If there is a mini-golf course, we’ll find it!
Wave House: You don’t need to stay at Sol Wave House to get amongst the thrill that is the FlowRider! We spent quite a bit of time here; relaxing on their daybeds, watching others test our their skills on the water, and of course having a go ourselves.
What’s for eating?
Boat Yard: We enjoyed the food here so much that we dined here twice! With beach views, an excellent menu, and friendly staff; this was up there on our restaurant list.
Pirates Beach Bar and Grill: What’s not to love about a barbeque on the beach?
While in Mallorca, we also took a day-trip to the city of Palma; a 50-minute bus ride from Palma Nova.
